2018 Goal Wrap Up

  • Run/walk 4 5ks. I did 5 5k. I really enjoyed them and look forward to doing more.
  • Learn to knit and crochet. I never did learn. I'll try again next year.
  • Learn to use the sewing machine I bought. Still in its box.
  • Get rid of 1000 items out of our house.  I meant to keep track but didn't. Tai and I cleaned out our closet and took 7 bags to the thrift store. We still have plenty to get rid of.
  • Watch 12 pre-2017 movies.  I watched 9 which was pretty good.
  • Get 90,000 steps at least one week a month. I think I only hit this once in the whole year.
  • Finish cleaning out the garage and move my car inside. Still working on this one.

2018 was a busy year. I feel like I was more active. I added yoga and more walking to my life. I went to 3 gaming conventions. Played tons of D&D. Looking forward to a fun 2019.

I've been getting a lot of cookbooks lately. Tai went vegan a few months back and I'm at a loss about what to cook. So all of loot lately is vegan cookbooks. Or low carb cookbooks because I'm trying to do more low carb.

I love meat. But it would be easier if I went vegan too. Only have to make one meal instead of 2.

I gravitate toward Paleo but I can't seem to give up dairy.

My Fandoms: Harry Potter

While getting ready for Emerald City Comic Con, I started thinking of all the fandoms I'm apart of. so I'm going to do this series about each fandom I belong to. These are in no particular order.

Harry Potter
I've read all the book, seen the movies, dressed up as HP characters for Halloween and various other events. I have tons of Harry Potter stuff.

I enjoy the characters, the story. I like the character development. The story is very rereadable. The movies are a lots of fun and a pretty good.

  • Get rid of 1000 items out of our house. I took 4 boxes of stuff to the thrift store this month.
  • Watch 12 pre-2017 movies. I watched New York, I Love You. It's several short stories made into one long movie. Each segment has it's own director and cast. Some of the casts overlap. Lots of famous actors. It was interesting.
  • Get 90,000 steps at least one week a month. The first week of February I did 81,390 steps. That was close. I was still sick off and on so there were several days of sleeping.
  • Finish cleaning out the garage and move my car inside. I moved a bunch of stuff around but still too much to bring in the camping gear. I'm leaning toward not moving my car inside so we can get a freezer.

My Fandoms: Firefly

While getting ready for Emerald City Comic Con, I started thinking of all the fandoms I'm apart of. so I'm going to do this series about each fandom I belong to. These are in no particular order.

First up, Firefly.
In 2005, my friend, Sara, invited me to see a movie with her. The movie was called Serenity. Her boyfriend didn't want to go so I happily went with her. Sara explained the movie was based on a tv show and she tried to explain the show. I went to see the movie without any real good idea about the show. I enjoyed the movie so she lent me her DVDs of the tv show. That's how I became a Browncoat.

I enjoy Firefly because it's basically a space western. I love the characters. So well thought out and compelling. It was really sad that it was only one season. I would have would liked to see how the characters turned out.
