Wall Art for the Bedroom

I've been on the look out for something that I can put over the bed. Right now I (and I'm ashamed to tell you) have a tapestry that I've had since college there. It's time to get something more adult. But what?
I love this one from Crate & Barrel. It's not really of anything which I think is cool. But this one has a cool, peaceful vibe. This one is from Ikea.
This one is so beautiful. But I think it's too feminine. I do like it. It reminds me of a spa. Also from Ikea.
This one is kind of stark. But not really what I want for the bedroom but maybe the living room. Also from Ikea.
I love the price on the Ikea ones but I would still have to have them framed or something. So where do you go to look for wall art?

  1. Ooh! I love to decorate, but I gotta know more about what your bedroom looks like to help!

First off - you don't have to put one large piece, you could do a cluster of small pictures, a few long ones, some small shelves, the possibilities are endless!

If art is what you want, you can also try etsy.com and art.com for starters.

  2. He he he we have a poster of a yellow lab puppy and Jimi Hendrix over our bed.

Ooh the tree image is really nice.

Want a painting? I could always try making something to order. I'm getting better with trees.

  3. I love them all, but I especially like the 1st one from Crate & Barrel and the 2nd one from Ikea.

  4. I make my own. With the exception of a few records, a red metal star and a tiny black cuckoo clock, all the art on the walls is my own.

That first one is pretty cool.

  5. I vote for the top one from C&B! Lovely and classy.

  6. I like them all! And I like the flower one, maybe Tai wouldn't think it was too "girly"??

I have one of those wall shelfs from Pottery Barn over my bed with mis-matched frames on it. I really like it because it takes up visual space, and I can change the pics to what I want. Plus, the frames were pretty inexpensive, which was nice.

If you're going for one big piece, go for one you really like, and spend the money. I know it sounds bad, but better to save up and get the one you really love - and get it framed - than to spend money on something that is just okay because you can afford it.

I think having Introverted Wife paint something for you could be cool. Or, you could get a big canvas and try yourself to recreate the one from Crate and Barrell. That one would be pretty easy to do.
