Music Makes The Movie

Over the weekend we were playing Rock Band and I sang Under Pressure. Later I was telling Tai that Under Pressure always reminds me of Grosse Pointe Blank.

It got me thinking what other songs remind me movies? Like Bohemian Rhapsody from Wayne's World (yes, I have a thing for Queen).

Or Don't You Forget About Me from The Breakfast Club:

or Lust For Life from Trainspotting:

Or Tiny Dancer from Almost Famous:

Or Benny & The Jets from 27 Dresses (I actually learned the lyrics after seeing this movie):

What are your favorite movie songs?

  1. This is so true! Inspired by the Oscars, every time I hear the theme from "Up", I get a little wistful. I would also say another favorite is Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" from "Say Anything". Oh Lloyd Dobler...

  2. Howard Jones'"I'd Like to Get to Know You Well" from Better Off Dead ( I love Cusack!) Dionne Warwick's "Say A Little Prayer" from My Best Friends Wedding, and Natalie Cole's "Everlasting Love" from While You Were Sleeping are some of my favorites!

  3. I loved all of the ones that you picked!! There are so many to choose from that I couldn't come up with just one, but Queen is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We wore out one of our cassette tapes when my boys were 5 and 8!!! We liked to rock out with them on our drives to and back from school!

  4. Oh, Bohemian Rhapsody is totally synonomous with Wayne's World!! We used to drive around and sing along to it, just like Wayne and Garth!*

But how can you forget the Celine Dion song from Titanic - 'My Heart will go on'!
And remember 'Blaze of Glory' from Young Guns II??? LOL! I do!

(*by the way, can you freaking believe that it's been about 18 years since Wayne's World came out???? Talk about feeling old now.)
