I tried the Smothered Steak with Caramelized Onions and Hearts of Palm Salad.
The steak was delicious. The onions took a little longer than the recipe said. I'd never had hearts of palm but the salad was easy and good. Overall it was yummy weeknight meal.

That looks amazing!!! I love my carbs!!
ReplyDeleteLovely dish. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat does sound amazing! I've also started looking in the low-carb direction for ideas even though people who follow low-carb diets would laugh at my normal consumption.
ReplyDeleteJoy's Book Blog
Looks yummy! I've never tried hearts of palm before either.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I am a carb addict I think! Pasta and potatoes are my favorites! My hubby is trying to lose weight though and he doesn't want carbs:( This would be a good cookbook for me to have. When he worked 3-11 the other night I splurged and fried potatoes and ate nothing but them for my dinner!
ReplyDeleteI would happily eat that any night of the week. YUM! I'll look for this book at the library...I can always use some variety :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to expand your dinner choices. The meal you made sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteDid you say carmelized onions? I'm there. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at more low-carb choices too, especially for evening meals. I feel so much better in the mornings if I don't eat carbs late!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about different cookbooks inspiring different choices, regardless of whether you follow a diet. I like to look through vegetarian cookbooks for ideas. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat onion topped steak looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, easiest to think of carb based meals. While that is something that is comfort food to me, it's not what I need all the time.
