Something I Wish I Would Have Known At The Beginning

Sometimes I feel like I started planning this wedding in the middle. And now I'm working my way out. At the beginning the middle seemed like the right place. I saw our wedding like a circle. Tai and I were at the center and we had to fit the puzzle pieces around us. No one at any point tried to tell me that this might not be the best way. Linear thinking might be better.
I had no idea rentals cost so much. When we started looking for a venue we wanted something were we could have the ceremony and the reception all in the same place. But we also didn't want to break the bank. We choose our venue because it was cheap, we could have both the ceremony and the reception there, and we could hang out with our friends all weekend. It had everything we thought we wanted. Now there are picnic tables there which we thought we'd use. But Tai and I went out there at the end of March and decided that no, we had to have real tables. Adding on the rental cost we could have chosen any other traditional venue for a similar price. Now, I'm not regretting our decision. I just wish someone would have told me.
What have you learned that you wish you would have known at the start?

  1. Oh, I have three, flowers, wedding dress (that I adore) and invitations. I thought just pick the first florist and that's fine. I loved my dress but missed out on the dress shopping. And invitations... what a nightmare.

Everyone has tons of "if i had known..." but really, would we have done something different? Not to worry, I know your wedding is going to look amazing!
