Weekend Cooking: Breaded Mushrooms

I pinned this breaded mushroom based on the picture. Who wouldn't want to make them? They look delicious.

But after reading the recipe and the comments, I realized that I needed to make some adjustments.
As you can see not as pretty as the pinned one.

Breaded Mushrooms
(adapted from Notecook)

8 oz mushroom, cleaned and de-steamed
3 Tbs grated Parmesan cheese
4 Tbs panko bread crumbs
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper
1 egg

Heat oven to 450. Mix cheese, bread crumbs, garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper together. Dip mushrooms in egg, then dip cheese/bread crumb mix. Place breaded mushrooms on a baking sheet, lined with foil and sprayed with oil. Bake for 6-8 minutes, flip mushrooms, then bake for another 6-8 minutes.

  1. Well I think yours are pretty. This technique is new to me, but one of my recipes that comes close is stuffed mushrooms. Chop stems, combine with herbs, Parmesan. Pile onto caps and bake. Can be appetizer or side.

  6. So every time I see their photos I wonder how in the world they turned out so differently (in look) than yours when the exact same ingredients were used?? Still, I would eat them...love mushrooms!

  7. I absolutely love that you post the recipe photo and then your own as a reality check. Your photo looks tasty, though. I just might try this one. Is it good for you by any chance? Neutral?

  10. I agree with Beth, it looks like a good buffet recipe. I may have to add this one to my Thanksgiving recipe collection.
