2017 Goals Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I found hiking and made it work for me. I'm trying to find more time to hike. I'm going to hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail so look for updates on how that's going in 2018.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017.  Didn't happen. It's on my goal list for 2018. But I feel like I changed my relationship with stuff. I read How to Manage Your Home without Losing Your Sanity by Dana White this year. She doesn't have a lot of complicated steps. Just do you need it and where are you going to keep it. She also advocates looking for ways to not bring things into your home. Decluttering does not have to be hard.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I need more hours in the day to go to a yoga class. I have added a yoga app to my phone so hopefully I can squeeze some in.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). I loved this goal. I enjoy the time I spend outside with Houdini. Not on my phone, just looking at nature. So calming.

Add more art into my life. I liked this goal too. I found that art is everywhere. Sometimes you just have a little harder.

Get back to meal planning. I love my instant pot. I cook at home a lot more.

December: Make 4 meatless meals. Fail. So hard to for me to skip the meat.

November Goal Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. Still feeling lazy and incredibly busy.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. Feeling like this might not happen this year. I need to get rid of stuff in the house before I can finish the garage.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I tried to take a class but with life so busy I could't find one at a convenient time.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. Art is everywhere. I love looking for it.

Get back to meal planning. I love my instant pot. I cook at home a lot more.

November: Get 2 massages. Fail.

December: Make 4 meatless meals.

October Goal Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. No hikes this month. In fact I'm feeling really lazy and like I should do more. But I've been super busy and it feels hard to add more activities.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. I have a couple of days off of work this month. I hope to actually work on cleaning up some rooms and getting rid of stuff.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. None this month :(

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. Still trying to peek in galleries as I walk past.

Get back to meal planning. I'm less meal planning and just using what we have on hand. It works out most days.

October Goal: Eat at home 25 days out of the month. I was really close. I think I cooked like 22 or 23 days this month.

November: Get 2 massages.

September Goal Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I went on one of my planned hikes in September. I have one planned for October. But October is so busy so I'm not sure if I'll do more.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. I got a lot of stuff out this month. All that's left is the camping gear, the bikes, and tools. I'm going to work on bringing the camping gear in the house and work on putting the tools in the cabinet.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I did some poses. My legs and upper back are wrecked every day. I need more yoga.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. Nothing here this month. There have been some great exhibits but no time to see them.

Get back to meal planning. I'm less meal planning and just using what we have on hand. It works out most days.

September Goal: Stick to my budget. Eh, sort of. Lots of expenses. I'll keep working on it.

October Goal: Eat at home 25 days out of the month.

August Goal Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I just went on one hike in August but I have 2 planned in September.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. I did get rid of some stuff but August was too busy and too hot to move stuff around.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I did some yoga this month. I'd still like to do more.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. Nothing here this month. There have been some great exhibits but no time to see them.

Get back to meal planning. I'm less meal planning and just using what we have on hand. It works out most days.

August goal: Take 100 items to the thrift shop. I wish I would have taken a picture of the one load I took. There was at least a 100 items there.

September Goal: Stick to my budget.

July Goal Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I decided to hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2018. I'm started doing a few small hikes. I have one longer hike on the calendar for September.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. No new update here. Still working on it. Got rid of more stuff in the house but we have so much junk.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I don't think we did much yoga this month. It was a busy month.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. Nothing really here. I walk by a few art galleries on my way home so I always peek.

Get back to meal planning. We took a break from Plated. It's been too hot to stand over the stove. I've been using my instant pot a lot lately.

July Goal: Keep the 3 herbs I planted (rosemary, mint, and lavender) alive. I did it!

August goal: Take 100 items to the thrift shop.

June Goal Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I think I decided on my physical challenge for 2018. Now to start training for it.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. No new update here. Still working on it. But I feel like I need to clear out stuff from the house to bring more in.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. Taiki and I started doing yoga at home together. We've been doing it once a week but want to do it more.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. I stopped by an art gallery at the Seattle Center. They had a mix of painting, photography, and sculpture.

Get back to meal planning. It's going good.

June monthly goal: Make something on my loom (either a hat or a scarf). I made 2 hats and am working on a scarf.  I post a lot about my project (as well as pictures of the dog and food I cook) on Instagram. Follow me @sillylittlelinda.

July Goal: Keep the 3 herbs I planted (rosemary, mint, and lavender) alive.

May Goals Update

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. Trying to keep my walking up. Since we mowed the back yard and put up an aerial dog run, Houdini's walks are shorter.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. Kind of stalled on this one. Spent too many weekends out of the house so I had limited time to work on the garage.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I didn't get an yoga in this month at all :(

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good on this one.

Add more art into my life. Nothing formal but keeping an eye out for art everyday.

Get back to meal planning. Going well. I love Plated and making new meals each week is fun.

New monthly goal: Bike 60 miles this month. Ha! I biked 5.5 miles.

June monthly goal: Make something on my loom (either a hat or a scarf).

April Goals Tally

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. Still working on building my ankle strength. I'm still doing a lot of walking. I've upped my step challenge number to 12,000/day. I'm hoping to get back to biking in May.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. We actually made a lot of progress here. We are able to pull Tai's car into the garage. I hope to have the whole garage cleared by the end of June.

We switched to Plated. I'm going to do a post on my experiences with all the meal delivery services we used.

Take more pictures. I think I'm going to change this goal to something else.

March Goals Tally

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I went to the doc, got some ankle exercises, and some inserts for my shoes. My ankles feel a lot better. But haven't really done much physical other than walking.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. Made almost no progress here.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I went to yoga once this month. It was a busy month and I struggled to go back.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing good here.

Add more art into my life. Making plans to go to more art museums but nothing concrete.

Get back to meal planning. We switched to Home Chef which helps tremendously.

Take more pictures. Still sucking at this.

February Update on 2017 Goals

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. I've rolled my ankle again so walks are shorter. I'm going to the doctor to see what can be done about my wobbly ankles!

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. Made almost no progress here.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I went to yoga-once this month. I want to go back once my ankle feels better.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Still doing pretty goiod about this one. Tai and I have been reading after dinner, just listening to music.

Add more art into my life. Added some art museums to my Instagram feed. Enjoying learning about new artists.

Get back to meal planning. We did Blue Apron one week this month. Really helped with the meal planning.

Take more pictures. Still sucking at this. I don't always like the prompts.

January Update on 2017 Goals

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. Walking Houdini has been the most exercise I've been getting. I'm doing more than 10,000 steps a day. I might increase my step goal next month. And I'm looking forward to warmer days to get my bike out.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. I got rid of a bunch of stuff through my buy nothing group. I hope to take a load of stuff to a thrift shop next month.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I've done some poses but not really practiced for a substantial period of time.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). Getting better at this. It's hard to walk Houdini and look at my phone. On the weekends, I leave my phone upstairs while I'm downstairs and vice versa.

Add more art into my life. I went to the Seattle Art Museum early in January to see the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit.

Get back to meal planning. I'm not planning out the whole week but I'm still cooking at home a whole lot.

Take more pictures. I stuck at this. By the time I get home it's dark. Hard to take pictures. I'm hoping to do better this month. But some days I completely forget.

2017 Goals and Update on my 2016 Goals

Ha ha ha ha! I didn't even come close to doing any of my 2016 goals. I didn't buy a bike until the end of summer. I barely rode it but did ride our stationary bike a bit. Moving took up most of my year. And I've still got boxes to unpack. I never made it a zumba or other dance related class. I still have a ton of mental clutter (although I'm working on disposing of those negative tapes).  My 2017 goals are a lot smaller.

Prepare to do something physically challenging in 2018. Either STP, Tough Mudder, or a 5k. I need to get in shape and I like having an activity to do rather than trying to lose a certain amount of weight.

Be able to park my car in the garage by December 31, 2017. The garage still has lots of boxes. A lot of stuff I need to find a place for. A lot of stuff needs to go.

Add yoga back into my life at least once a week. I love yoga. It's like a massage for my soul. Even if I have to do it at home, it's better than nothing.

One hour a day without technology (no phone, no computer, no tv). I spend way too much time mindlessly staring at a screen.

Add more art into my life. Go to the art museum three times a year. See more plays. Find ways to let art into my life.

Get back to meal planning. Life's easier when I know what I'm making for dinner.

Take more pictures. I'm going to do those photo of a day lists like Fat Mum Slim. Any you would recommend?

2016 was quite a year. I'm looking forward to making 2017 a great one.
