Library Loot #3

When I went to the library to pick up this week's installment, I found Dirty Girls on Top on the shelf. I've read her other books and I was excited to see a new book of hers out. But Moonstone I had on hold. I can't remember why. I asked Tai if it was for him. He thought it looked interesting but figures it was for me. I have no idea.
I did read Shop Your Closet. I put it down after she kept talking about Gucci and Armani. My clothing labels are Target and Old Navy. She really wasn't talking to me.
What about you? Get anything good this week?

  1. Linda - The Moonstone is a fantastic book. I first read Wilkie Collins' book The Woman in White after seeing the Broadway rendition of it. (The book is much more intriguing than that musical could ever be.) I loved his style of writing and the details that draw you into the time period and the mysteries of each character that all contribute to the main storyline. I hope you enjoy it and can't wait to hear what you think of it. Of the two I think I enjoyed The Moonstone more than the Woman in White, but as I said both are good reads.

  2. I've gone old school and finally picked up The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I've been wanting to read it for a while now and after reading through "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" figured it was time.

I've also gotten the last in the Night Watch series called "Last Watch". I've heard it's no where near as good as the others but I'll have to see.

  4. I understand what you mean about the closet book!! I can kind of understand about "investing in quality clothing" - but I just don't have $500 to drop on any single piece - be it shoes, pants, whatever! Shoot, anything over $100 is really expensive to me!
I do try to buy "classic" pieces, and there are a few things like that that I wear over and over again. But, then I complain that I have no "fun" pieces! Ugh.
But I think it's totally unrealistic to expect "normal" people to have high-fashion designer labels like that. Maybe one. But a closet full??

  5. I picked up five sewing books.

Blablover5-Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde is one of my favorites! It's so creepy! Enjoy!
